If your business is based in Newcastle, North Tyneside or Northumberland, there is grant funding available right now that could cover half the cost of a new website or web development project.
The North of Tyne Business Support Fund (Phase 3) has just launched. It is run by NBSL in partnership with the North East Combined Authority. Web design and development is one of the things it covers.
Elevate North is a registered provider with NBSL, which means we can deliver projects funded through this grant.
What's on offer
The grant covers 50% of project costs between £3,000 and £8,000. So you could get up to £4,000 towards a website build, redesign or development project.
VAT is not covered. But the grant itself is straightforward. You pay half, the fund pays half.
Who can apply
- Be based in Newcastle, North Tyneside or Northumberland (paying business rates to one of those councils)
- Be trading and making sales
- Be an SME (fewer than 250 staff)
- Be planning to grow, whether that is creating new jobs or safeguarding existing ones
- Not have received more than £315,000 in combined Minimal Financial Assistance over the current and previous two financial years
What kind of projects qualify
Web design and development is specifically listed as an eligible project type. It also covers things like marketing planning, software development, video production and business strategy work.
The project needs to be completed within 3 months and claimed by November 2026 at the latest.
How it works with Elevate North
Because we are a registered provider, working with us on a grant-funded project is simple.
Say you need a new website for your business. The total project cost is £6,000. You would pay £3,000 and the grant covers the other £3,000. We handle the project delivery — you get a proper website built by someone local who knows what they are doing.
This works for new website builds, redesigns, web apps or any development work your business needs to grow.
How to apply
Applications are being assessed from 5th May 2026, but you can apply now. NBSL expect high demand so it is worth getting in early.
