How a Side Project Became Number One in Google, Organically
I built a meditation timer out of frustration, forgot about it for two years, then checked the traffic. 70,000 users a month. Here is what that taught us about SEO.

Unity Angels is a Newcastle-based angel investment group connecting early-stage founders with experienced investors. They came to us with no website, no digital presence, and a launch date already in the diary. We built the whole thing from scratch.
When you're launching an investment group with no track record yet, trust is everything. Founders need to believe you're legitimate. Investors need to feel the network is organised and worth their time. The website had to carry that weight before the reputation could.
On top of that, the site needed to speak clearly to two completely different audiences at once. Founders looking for funding. Angels looking for deal flow.
Behind the scenes, every new enquiry meant someone on the team manually following up, sending information, asking qualifying questions, chasing responses. With a small team and a fresh launch, its a lot of work.
The structure separates the two user journeys clearly so neither audience has to dig through content that isn't for them. And we built it as a static site with a light weight CMS, so it's fast, stable, can be updated and doesn't rely on anything it doesn't need to.
For the operations side, we built a custom automated intake flow using serverless functions and JotForm integrations. New enquiries from founders and investors now trigger an instant response with the right information, followed by a structured qualification process, all without anyone on the team lifting a finger. What was previously hours of manual work every month just doesn't exist anymore.
Unity Angels launched looking like a group that had been operating for years. From the first day, they were getting consistent inbound from founders and potential angel members, with no paid ads.
The automation meant the team could focus on the actual conversations that mattered, not the admin around them. Somewhere in the region of 30 hours of manual work saved every month.
For an early-stage business, your website is often the first thing a potential partner or investor actually judges you on. We made sure it did that job.
